The KlatschMeister had his new Panasonic Lumix FZ150 at the Vendome Cafe today and he passed it across to Lorne who, in his pre-retirement working life was a professional photographer. Lorne cranked the zoom out and got this close-up shot of one of El Klatscho's eyeballs staring back at him.

The FZ150, despite having only one lens, can take 3D photos as well. You put it in 3D mode and, after pressing the shutter release, slowly move the camera from left to right over the course of about four seconds. During this time the camera will take about a dozen photos, then it will analyze them and select the two which should make the best stereo pair. The photo above was taken using this method and it turned out pretty well. All the Klatschers held still, as is required for this technique to work properly, but if you look in the background the lady at the next table was moving a little so she looks a bit odd. None of our group looks even the slightest bit odd, though. Nope, not us.
